Northern or Southern Flying Squirrel?

APPEARANCE:
The Northern is bigger and has a MUCH thicker tail; the tail actually appears shaggy. The color of the pelage is also quite different. The Southerns look prettier! Northern doesn't seem quite as coordinated.

DISPOSITIONS:
More sedate, bigger, and less aggressive that Southerns.
Northerns might be less aggressive due to the fact that they don't seem to be able follow moving targets as well as Southerns.

VOCALIZATIONS:
The Southerns make that "Tsssweeet Tsssweeeet!" call while the northern makes a lower chortle sound, kinda like a chuckle.

FOOD HABITS:
Northern doesn't chew through hickory nuts in quite the same way as a Southern.
Doesn't seem as interested in fungi and lichens,
Does like fruit, veggies etc.
Eats more food than Southerns and likes fruit more. Does like nuts and seeds as well.
